Your documents
never leave
your computer

Arked reads invoices, bills, warranties and contracts, files them and makes them searchable. Text recognition and the AI run on your Mac: no account, no server of ours. If you like, the archive syncs between Mac, iPhone and iPad through your iCloud.

Arked is still in private beta: the build downloads from here and runs with an invite code. If you don't have one yet, ask for it.

How it works

A single flow, from the downloads folder to the paper you need two years from now.

01
You drag
PDFs, a photo of the receipt, email attachments. Even a whole folder that is already a mess.
Downloads folder
02
It reads
On-device OCR for scans, then the local AI fills in the fields: who, when, how much.
On the device
03
You confirm
You only see the uncertain fields. One key, and the document goes into its drawer.
Thirty seconds
04
You find it
Search for “fridge” and find the receipt, the warranty and the serial number. Deadlines warn you ahead of time.
Two years from now
02

Local is not
a promise,
it is an architecture

Arked has no server your documents could be stolen from, because the documents go through no server. The archive is a folder on your disk: if you stop using it tomorrow, the files and their names stay readable in the Finder.

A
The AI runs on your Mac
A 1.8 GB model, downloaded once. It fills in the fields, merges counterparties and flags odd amounts — with no network.
B
On-device OCR
Scans become searchable text through the macOS engines. The photos of your bills go nowhere.
C
You choose the backup
An external disk, Time Machine or your own cloud, if you want it. It is your decision, not a default of ours.
D
No lock-in
Folders with readable names and an index in an open format. Export everything, whenever you like, in one go.

What it can do

Search
Search a word, find the paper
The index covers the text of the files, the fields and the notes. Filter by type, counterparty, year and amount, and save the search as a view.
Templates
Every type has its own card
Bill, warranty, contract, payslip: choose which fields matter and which are required. The AI proposes the rest.
Deadlines
It warns you before, not after
Warranties, car tax, renewals and inspections end up in a single list, with reminders on Mac and iPhone.
PDF actions
Rotate, split, merge, compress
The things you used to do with three different apps sit next to the document. Export a single PDF when your accountant needs one.
Entities
Who it concerns, and what it cost
Link documents to people, homes and cars. See the year's spending for each one without opening a spreadsheet.
iPhone and iPad
Scan wherever you are
Photograph the receipt in the shop, find it on the Mac. Looking up and scanning on the move; the managing stays at the desk.
04

Synced across your devices

The archive can live in your iCloud Drive: photograph a receipt with the iPhone and thirty seconds later the card is on the Mac. Syncing goes through your Apple account, not through servers of ours — your documents never reach one.

Mac
Where you manage
Import, OCR, templates, PDF actions, backup. The heavy work happens at the desk.
iCloud
Your account
The archive folder sits in iCloud Drive, encrypted by Apple. No copy of ours, no middleman.
iPhone · iPad
Where you look things up
Quick scans, search, deadlines. What you photograph in the shop is waiting for you on the Mac.
Optional If you prefer to keep everything on a single disk, turn syncing off: Arked stays a local archive and nothing changes. An alternative without iCloud: a shared folder on your home network.
Private beta

File it once,
find it forever

The build downloads from GitHub and runs with an invite code. If you don't have one yet, ask for it: it takes a minute and a couple of lines about what you would archive.

macOS 14 or later · Apple silicon and Intel · no account required · all versions.

At first launch macOS asks for confirmation: System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ “Open Anyway”. It happens only once.
